What is Barn Hunt?
A teamwork sport where dogs attempt to locate or mark hidden rats retrieving the rats in their aerated tubes safely. Testing the dogs agility, speed, nose and confidence.

Barn Hunt Level Basics
Instinct (RATI)
Optional, pass/fail introduction. Dogs must find a rat in a tube among three tubes (one empty, one with litter) in 1 minute.
Novice (RATN)
The dog must locate one rat, navigate a simple tunnel, and climb at least one bale in 2 minutes.
Master (RATM)
The top level, requiring the dog to find five rats in 4 minutes 30 seconds. The number of rats is unknown to the handler, and they must call the course "clear".
Open (RATO)
The dog must find two rats, navigate a more complex tunnel, and climb in 2 minutes 30 seconds.
Senior (RATS)
The dog must find four rats, navigate a harder tunnel, and climb in 3 minutes 30 seconds.
Crazy 8s
The dog must find as many of the 8 hidden rats as possible within 2 minutes. Earning 10 points per rat, 10 points for the climb, 10 points for the tunnel. Minus 20 points for missed climb, tunnel, or first wrong tube.
